Reduction of Future Risks of Cardio-Vascular Diseases

The growing incidence of cardio vascular diseases in our country has led to number of initiatives by different stakeholders. At present the disease has no age bar, even youth is getting affected by it. To address the issue at the right age the company in partnership with Mission Arogya Health and Information Technology is creating awareness among school children (Class IX to XII) about the cardio vascular diseases through a campaign in schools and by attempting to integrate the module in curriculum and physical activities.

Project objectives:

  • Introduce a multi-component school based program to reduce the burden of cardio-vascular diseases (CVD) among school going children.
  • Improve knowledge, perception, awareness and practice related to CVD and their risk factors
  • Strengthen the evidence base regarding the burden of CVD and prevailing knowledge, perception, awareness and practice related to CVD and their risk.


Implementing partner: Mission Arogya Health and Information Technology

Project Locations: West Bengal, six districts namely Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Midnapore East, Midnapore West and Burdwan.

Year of Implementation: 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Project outreach: 4262 schools approx. 12 lakh people including children
