At Idea, each one of our subscribers is special for us. We make sure that your communication needs are met even when you are out of India for business or pleasure. Our International roaming service ensures that even when you are out of India, you can make and receive calls, send and receive text messages and also access data services (to remain connected to the online world). So if it’s a matter of calling back home informing about your arrival, sending a text message to your loved ones, emailing that important business document while you attend meetings, uploading pictures on your online album – it’s all possible with International Roaming Service from Idea!

If you are a postpaid customer, you will need to get International Roaming Service activated on your Idea Mobile by visiting your nearest My Idea or contacting our Customer Care. If you are a Prepaid subscriber, your sim is already enabled with International Roaming Service and you would be able to roam in select countries across the world and make outgoing calls as well, along with incoming calls and send/receive sms. You will be charged a fixed monthly rental for the same (Rs 149 for postpaid and Rs 99 for prepaid). Postpaid customers would also need to pay a security deposit (refundable).

The International Roaming Deposit mentioned above is a standard charge. However, based on our discretion, additional deposits may be payable.

Before going out on International Roaming, it is advised that you contact Idea Customer Care for any queries or updated information in order to enjoy seamless coverage
Please check the Handset compatibility with Network frequency (GSM MHz 850/900/1800/1900) before traveling outside India
International traveling to USA would require a Tri-band handset
When Roaming in Korea and Japan, please procure a compatible handset at the Airport. Your SIM card can be used in this handset
CLI will not be guaranteed while roaming due to its limited or non-availability with operators
In the event of International Roaming, call details shall be passed on to the customer subject to the availability of the same with IDEA from the respective international operator
Any change in pricing / call rates due to market fluctuations shall be non-negotiable and Idea shall not be liable to adjust or waive off the amount
